Bali is an absolute paradise. With beautiful beaches, tropical jungles, great food and wonderful culture, there’s something for everyone. It’s no wonder then, that people flock to Bali from all over the world, not just to play but to work. If you’re looking to work or play in Bali, it can be important to know where the best places to find wifi are.

Why Bali?

Bali is a dreamer’s paradise. That means it can be a great setting to accomplish work, especially if you work in a creative industry. Whether you’re sitting in the sun typing on your laptop or finishing up a logo design on a patio in the mountains, there’s no denying that Bali is the perfect setting to get to work. If your brain is relaxed, you’re going to be able to accomplish a lot more, and that’s a lot easier outside your usual routine.

This is especially the case in today’s world. If you’ve been working from home a lot lately, you understand the need for a change of scenery to get the creative juices flowing. And since more of the world is working outside traditional office buildings, why not work in paradise?

Hotels and Wifi

So you’ve decided. You’re going to work in Bali. Where can you get work done? If you’re on a short term trip and planning on booking hotels, many have wifi capabilities. Check hotel websites and see if they list wifi. You’ll also want to know wifi speeds, depending on what you need to accomplish.

If that information isn’t listed, contact the hotel and ask. Calling a place in a very different timezone can be a logistical challenge, so look for email or a chatbot to get all of your telework questions answered. What is a chatbot? A chatbot is used so customers can type questions and directly reach a customer service representative. It can be much quicker to get an answer to any questions you have, which is why it’s recommended to engage with one instead of social media or email.

Coworking Spaces

Another great option for wifi in Bali is a coworking space. Bali, especially in Canggu, offers coworking spaces at an inexpensive rate. These spaces are comfortable and have the advantage of allowing you to meet others also teleworking. Knowing others can be beneficial, especially if you’re staying in Bali more than a couple weeks.

A lot of coworking spaces offer a free trial day and low rates. Rates vary between $55-$200 U.S. dollars a month. No matter if you decide to go with a coworking space or not, it’s worth the try. Even if you’re feeling more creative in Bali, you may find you need a focused work environment offered by a coworking space to meet an urgent deadline.

Cafes

Cafes are another great option for wifi. Many offer it free if you purchase a meal. In fact you’ll frequently see others typing away in cafes and restaurants.

One of the advantages of cafes is that they offer you the ability to work in all different settings. You can work on a project while looking out at the beach one day and while looking at the mountains the next. Just don’t plan to take meetings in public cafe spaces. Not only is it rude to those around you, but it may be considered unprofessional by your colleagues.

When in Doubt, Go to the Library

Another option is to use the public library. Bali has a handful of public libraries that you could potentially use. Libraries often have quiet spaces and internet access so you can accomplish what you need to.

Plus with a library, you’ve got the advantage of a helpful librarian, who can answer questions about the community and culture of Bali. The Coba Baca Public Library staff will even help you learn a bit of the local language during your visit. This is a welcome addition to any long trip to another country.

There are so many options for wifi in Bali, making it a great place to telework.
