One of the best things about holidaying in Bali is how kid-friendly it is. Although it can be rugged terrain, there are activities aplenty across the island. From water sports to family activities, there’s something for everyone.
Waterbom Bali
For the young (and young at heart), Waterbom Bali is a waterpark located in the heart of Kuta. This is unlike most waterparks though. It is a tropical paradise spread throughout the dense Balinese jungle. Dozens of exciting rides, slides and water games.
It’s a must-do. And it also has a plethora of onsite restaurants with global cuisine available. You’ll need a whole day to experience all the glory and endless fun available at Waterbom Bali.
River rafting along the Ayung
The Ayung River is a long stretch of water, snaking through the dense jungle. Complete with rapids, monkeys hanging from trees and tropical fruit precariously hanging over the river banks. It’s in this setting that you can do white water rafting.
Lasting over three hours, the rafting is a total of 12 kilometres. Fun, adventure, excitement. The rafting is a family bonding experience and something for the memory books.
Surf school
Surfing is rife in Bali. People from all over the globe come to get some of Indonesia’s best breaks. From world class surfers to grommets having their first go, surfing is a mainstay activity in Bali. And, with great surf comes surf lessons.
Scattered throughout the island are surf schools, fit for any skillset. The family-friendly schools mean that you can let the kids go off for the morning in the capable hands of the instructors and enjoy a coffee on the beach watching your little ones become the next Kelly Slater.
Ubud Monkey Forest
Ubud Monkey Forest is one of the cornerstones of Balinese tourism. And for good reason. The sacred sanctuary is a unique place to get up close and personal with the cheeky monkeys. They’re happy to be fed, and happy to let you know that they want food. They have the tendency to climb tourists and put on quite the show.
The forest is home to over 750 monkeys. It’s about creating harmony between man and animal. A beautiful escape.
Kids Yoga
Bali is a popular spot for yogis. All around the world people flock to the island for yoga retreats and meditation lessons from some of the masters. And, is it ever to young to get the kids into the practice?
Not taken too seriously, kids yoga is a holistic and sustainable activity. It weaves creativity into learning and focuses on self-confidence as well as doing something a little different.
