Imagine sipping sake and tucking into sushi watching the waves in Uluwatu. Well, now you can at Sake No Hana, a London-based internationally-acclaimed Japanese restaurant that’s located next to Uluwatu’s insta-famous OMNIA Day Club. #WINNING
Sake No Hana sits right above the buzz of the day club in a space which makes you feel right at home. With interiors that’ll have you taking pics all night to quite possibly the best sushi and sashimi in Bali, this really is the best spot to wind down, sip cocktails and relax after a long day in the sun.
Pro tip: head down for sunset and get ready for some seriously good Insta-stories.
If you’re looking to sit somewhere a little more casual, get comfy on the couches at the Grand Staircase. If you’re there for the sunset, we’d recommend you book a table at the mezzanine like we did and check out the panoramic views from above. Once you settle in, you won’t want to leave.
Our meal kicked off with a classic Japanese appetizer, lightly salted edamame beans. Delish! Of course, with the impressive main bar just a couple of meters away, we also had to sample a couple of their house mixes. For anyone asking, their margarita was a winner.

If you’re a whiskey aficionado, this one’s for you: the Uluwatu Classic, a smoked bourbon concoction with a blend of Balinese wine, Kintamani coffee wood chips, and sweet vermouth, garnished with tangerine zest. Sound fancy? It is… but boy is it good. Looking for a lighter mix? Try their fruity cocktails, these are equally as fun and just as easy to drink.

Moving right along to food. We decided to start with the Maki Platter. It came out like Picasso had perfectly assembled it himself. From left to right: Salmon Ebi Tempura, Tuna Truffle, Wagyu Beef, and Spicy Salmon—YUM.
We also tried Sake No Hana’s lightly seared Kagoshima Wagyu Beef Sirloin strips which was served with a zesty yuzu aioli and smoked vegetables. HEAVEN.

Two meals down and we were pretty sure our taste buds were enjoying the temporary trip to Japan. Another stand out, and yes there are many, was the melt-in-your-mouth Chilean Sea Bass which was delicately buttery and drizzled with sweet yuzu champagne miso sauce.

To end the night, we made sure to make room for dessert and we weren’t disappointed. Inspired by the beauty of Japan, the ‘Garden of Pleasure’ is a beautifully-crafted masterpiece which we legitimately felt bad pulling apart.

However, as per the chef’s recommendation, we grabbed our spoons and made our way through the ensemble of white chocolate stones, cherry sorbet, matcha mosses and cake soil crumbles. Whatever you do, do not skip dessert. It’s worth every calorie.
There’s no doubt Sake No Hana takes Japanese fine dining to a whole new level (quite literally) with every detail from the architecture to menus designed in line with their ‘shun’ philosophy: any moment of utter perfection. Having experienced our fair share of these moments, we’re happy to add yet another winner to our list of unforgettable dining places in Bali.
