A note from our founders on the Bali borders reopening to travellers, the new and improved The Bali Bible and what’s next.
When we started The Bali Bible over 12 years ago, it was a humble PDF that listed our favourite restaurants, bars, accommodation, as well as hidden gems and tips on how to get the best out of your trip to Bali.
Since then, The Bali Bible has emerged as a people’s guide to create better travel experiences by showcasing everything Bali has to offer, while giving users the power to be part of a shared community.
Over the years, we’ve inspired our Facebook and Instagram communities through resources that have guided them to dream and plan their perfect trip. As soon as they were ready to take the plunge, The Bali Bible was ready and waiting with our expert guides and all-in-one booking system.
There’s no doubt that the world of travel has changed. And so too must The Bali Bible. Our team has always worked tirelessly to uncover the best deals, unique gems and stunning locations for travellers’ next Bali trip, and we’ll continue to evolve to suit the changing needs of travellers and the Balinese community in our post-lockdown world. We want to help travellers fall in love with Bali; just like we did all those years ago.
This is why The Bali Bible exists.
Since turning 12, we’ve reflected on where our journey began and what we love about Bali. We’re proud of what this team has built so far, and we’re excited about what comes next. As we move past the pandemic, and begin our ‘new normal’, we’re going to take learnings from the last two years, and aim even higher than before.
From our offices across the globe – from Seminyak to Melbourne – our teams are dedicated to realising our vision of inspiring people to travel more, and travel better. Our content moving forward will read like the diary of a local; with interviews, feature stories, lists, recommendations and tales all speaking to the intricacies that make Bali such an incredible place to be. Taking a lead from 2019 favourites such as the iconic Instagram Tour and Ultimate VIP experience, we will be releasing a selection of exclusive experiences that each celebrate a different facet of Bali.
Of course, none of this would be possible without the incredible support of our audience. To all of you who have engaged with us on Instagram, created your own The Bali Bible shortlist or come along to one of our experiences, we say, thank you. You are a key part of our story and the reason why so many of us have been able to experience Bali in the way that we have.
As borders begin to reopen, there’s a feeling in the air that we will all be back in Bali – not just in our hearts and dreams, but with bookings in our calendars and real photos on the ‘gram. While we gear up for the epic return of the Balinese getaway, it’s clear Bali will look very different to what it did. Many of your favourite restaurants may have closed, some of your favourite shops may be gone, and the landscape you once knew may look different, but what endures is the essence of Bali: the sun, the water and the culture and a local spirit that remains unwavering.
The Bali Bible’s mission is to show you, our audience, that this ‘new’ Bali has never been more important to visit, and it is a responsibility we are excited to own.
We can’t wait to help guide you in 2022 and beyond. We hope you will join us for the ride.
